Protecting Marriage in our State...

Some of you may have heard about the recent ruling by the Iowa State Supreme Court to uphold the right for couples of the same sex to marry. In a few short weeks gay and lesbian couples will be flocking to our state to hold their wedding ceremonies. Is this what we want to have occurring around our nation? They say "as Iowa goes...so goes the nation"...soon the institution of marriage could be broadened to encompass all people with alternative lifestyles marrying whomever they choose. Was not marriage first ordained by God to bring a male and female together with a purpose of raising a family? Unlike animals that reproduce without a relationship we were created by God in His image with a union between and man and woman to procreate within a marriage relationship. I am a believer in traditional marriage created to preserve traditional families.

I hope we can stand together and not allow the radical lifestyles of a few people trample on one of the most important social institutions ever created...the marriage of a man and a woman. The family unit is one of the backbones of our great Nation! What should we do to protect marriage?
